Whatever you dream, whatever you dare yourself to wish for, if you act as though it already belongs to you, then you shall have it. Our reality is shaped by the depth and expanse of our imagination.

A few years ago, I was (weeks?) away from buying a property.  It was to be a project, a house that needed some work, but I was very excited about transforming the space, little by little, into the home of my dreams. I knew the community well and had fallen in love with it.

​

I had budgeted very carefully, but had no room to manoeuvre – everything was carefully balanced on a shoe-string.

​

I was at work, in the middle of an already demanding day, when I got the call from my broker.

​

Without any explanation, the bank had reduced their official offer by £30,000; wounding me, financially and emotionally. I had less than two minutes to make a decision: pursue this venture that I’d pinned my hopes on, or accept the fate sealed by the bank? After all, some things are just not meant to be. My broker pushed me for an answer, but with no foreseeable way of raising £30,000 he knew I had no choice. It was as much a surprise to me as it was to him when I found myself saying, “Yes. I’ll go ahead”.

​

My rational mind congratulated me on committing financial suicide, but my entrepreneurial instincts had kicked in.  The broker asked me if I was sure and I said, ‘Yes’.

​

When I put down the phone, my colleagues sensed that my broker had delivered bad news. A colleague asked how much money I needed. I told him, ‘£30,000’. 

​

He laughed, smilingly, enquiring again, ‘No, how much really?’

​

Again, I replied, ‘£30,000’.

​

His smile fell but without hesitation, he offered to lend me £2,000.

​

I was stunned and bowled over by his generosity. Moments later, a different colleague offered another £2,000. Within five minutes, I had raised £4,000. Only £26,000 to go. Ten hours after the call from my broker, I’d raised a total of £24,000 from the generosity of work colleagues and friends and was waiting to hear back from another friend. Two days later that friend confirmed she was able to lend me the final £6000.

​

I am pleased and proud to say, I had paid everyone back within a year.

​

This is just one of many stories where I have been tested throughout my life confirming my strong belief that obstacles are made to be overcome. The way through is not always through the centre, but with self-determination, there are many routes to achieving our goals. 

​

I truly believe that with the right strategy and the right mindset everyone can fulfil their true potential. 

With my own experience of anguish and suffering, personally and professionally, I now make It my mission in life to help women achieve their dreams and ambitions beyond their wildest imaginings.
